Our services
XRAY & ULTRASOUND
By utilising the latest imaging technologies, we significantly enhance our ability to accurately assess and diagnose your horse.
Our digital radiography and ultrasound are not restricted to clinic use; they grant us the capability to promptly diagnose your horse on-site (in the field) in case of emergencies.
Some instances where digital imaging can be beneficial for your horse include, but are not limited to:
-
Hoof alignment radiographs for farrier or due to lameness or laminitis rotation
-
Prepurchase examination or survey radiographs for performance horses
-
Identifying arthritis or bony lesions
-
Kissing spines diagnosis
-
Identifying diseased teeth and sinusitis, head tumours.
-
Evaluating soft tissue injuries, such as Tendon lesions.
RADIOGRAPHY (X-RAY)
Radiography stands as the most frequently employed imaging technique for evaluating lameness, providing us with the ability to visualise bones and joints. Thanks to our portable digital radiography unit, we can assess various areas, such as the lower and upper limbs, head, neck, and back. However, certain regions of the horse, like the pelvis and lower back, may not be adequately imaged through radiography. In such instances, we resort to other imaging modalities, such as ultrasound, to achieve comprehensive evaluations.
ULTRASONOGRAPHY (ULTRASOUND)
Ultrasound is a versatile tool used for diagnosing musculoskeletal conditions, monitoring healing, and assessing abdominal pain, respiratory issues, and cardiology in horses. It is also crucial for monitoring reproductive cycles, detecting pregnancies (including twin pregnancies), and late pregnancy evaluations. We have three machines. One for reproduction, one for scanning the chest and abdomen, and one specific for musculoskeletal conditions.
